Job Description

Qualifications:

  • AS Degree in Computer Technology or a related field, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prefer Business Administration degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field, CTS Certification, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of local and wide area networks, networking equipment, and workstations.
  • Demonstrated skills in  the repair, maintenance and installation of a variety of computerized equipment, software and peripherals.
  • Strong working knowledge of end user software
    (Windows 10&11, MacOS, iOS, ChromeOS). 
  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possesses a valid South Carolina driver’s license. 

Job Purpose: 

Under the direction of the Chief Technology Officer & Assistant Director of Technology, install, maintain and repair computer equipment, peripherals, and networks to prevent service interruption;support district initiatives and assist in realizing long and short term district technology goals.

 

IT Support Technicians provide technical advice and support to help District employees effectively use computer software and hardware. 

  • Identify the hardware and software needed to provide solutions to problems. 
  • Assist in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users' requirements. 
  • Provide telephone, face-to-face and online support to District Employees.
  • Deploy and install appropriate educational software. 
  • Connect users to the network. 
  • Instruct users to appropriately use district equipment and software
  • Provides the first level of technical support to local users by answering technical questions and modifying the operating environment of computers to ease and simplify the work to be done on them, and attending to technology work orders submitted by schools and/or department
  • Perform software and hardware maintenance on district workstations
  • Responds to routine and emergency technical service requests on technology equipment and software in schools
  • Complete assigned technology work orders.
  • Participate in meeting short-term and long-term technology goals for the district.
  • Assist with the maintenance/repair of hardware, software, and IoT devices.
  • Install and maintain workstation operating systems, virus definition deployment, and knowledge of content filtering software.
  • Assist with the maintenance/repair of one to one devices, including but not limited to: ChromeBooks, MacBooks, and iPads.
  • Maintain LAN/WAN Internet connectivity.
  • Participate in in-service training and other appropriate training opportunities to maintain skill level.
  • Ability to successfully interact with and support end users of varying skill levels.
  • Drive district vehicles as needed.
  • Assume other duties as requested. 

Salary Range:  Based Upon Experience

Contract Days: 240 Days/12 Months
