TITLE:             Facilities Coordinator     APPROVED 11/22/2021                                         


                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             


QUALIFICATIONS: 


     1. High School Diploma, vocational or technical training required, degree in related field preferred.


  1. Demonstrates knowledge related to advanced principles of maintenance and landscaping for public schools.
  2. Five years supervisory experience preferred.
  3. Five years experience in building and grounds maintenance preferred.
  4. Experience in school related inspections
  5. Should be able to interpret blueprints and manufacture’s specifications.
  6. Keep abreast of new methods and technology as it applies to building maintenance.
  7. Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO:  Director of Engineering


 


JOB GOAL:  Provide a safe comfortable environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.  To strive to keep all Millcreek school buildings and grounds in the best condition possible in the most cost- effective way. 


 


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Supervise and maintain all district athletic fields, grounds, parking lots, sidewalks, etc.
  2. Manage grounds keeping staff on a regular basis.
  3. Provide directions to lawn mowing crews as required by mowing schedule.
  4. Assist in mowing and trimming of grass at all district locations on a scheduled program.
  5. Supervise and maintain on file all government forms and records related to district required inspections for all buildings and all district property.
  6. Preform monthly building walkthroughs to ensure compliance, safety, and overall building and grounds integrity.
  7. Supervise and maintain all building planned maintenance and maintain on file all records of planned maintenance.
  8. Ensure value of work, service, materials and/or equipment received from outside vendor/contractors and recommend payment.
  9. Assist with event setup and provide facility access for events (flexed schedule).
  10. Coordinate and assist with setup and tear down requirements of sporting events including benches, mats, terra covers, safety backstops, standards, safety fences, seats, stands, podiums, etc.
  11. Repair various types of athletic equipment used on or with the athletic fields, i.e., goal posts, standards, cages, bases, dugouts, safety fences, gates and trash receptacles.
  12. Provide direction for snow plowing responsibilities for the district (flexed schedule)
  13. Assist in snow plowing at all district locations.
  14. Evaluate and supervise shipping, receiving, moving, set-up for maintenance staff on a regular basis.
  15. Maintain all tools, equipment, machinery, and vehicles provided by the District.
  16. Coordinate major repairs with Maintenance Department to include cost and material estimates.
  17. Keep records of materials, measurements and time on each job for future reference.
  18. Ensure compliance with OSHA, DCNR, DEP requirements, State and Local Codes as well as District safety standards. Correct and report discrepancies to Maintenance Supervisor. 
  19. Willing to work overtime, weekends or holidays as required by the District.
  20. Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:


LANGUAGE SKILLS:


Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


 


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:                                                            


Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical situations.


 


REASONING ABILITY:


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.VED 11/22/2021


 


OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:


Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.  Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.  Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
